Happy To You!

We have a 2 year old! Simon is embracing the glory of being the birthday boy and has been singing to himself since last night. "Happy To You, Happy To You!" He can't say birthday:)

He thought the decorations were pretty awesome.

And birthday pancakes were a hit as well.

Overall our day was pretty low-key but our little boy was happy and healthy and what a blessing it is to spend this milestone with him.

For dinner, we went to the local Korean restaurant, which I guess has maybe become a tradition. Our little foodie approved and in typical Simon fashion gobbled everything down.

On the way home in the car he continued to repeat "More? More?"

Of course it is impossible to celebrate this day and not think of Simon's birth parents and hope that they are happy today as well. While doing a little research for Simon's birthday party I found out that in Korea it is a tradition to eat seaweed soup on every birthday after the 1st to honor what the child's mother went through during labor. We thought it was so beautiful that the culture has a tradition to honor this and it will always be our tradition to have seaweed soup in honor of Simon's birth mom. Here he is enjoying some.

And when we were all done Simon stacked up all the little dishes and started handing them to our waitress!

UM WHAT??? I guess I need to give him table clearing duties! He never ceases to amaze me.
